We enjoyed such a lovely Christmas….I hope you all did too! This year our table was set with three small Christmas trees set down the centre of the table which were surrounded with gold and brown baubles. A couple of gorgeous owl managed to find their way in there too!  We still have a house full of guests (don’t forget this is the peak of summer holiday season here) and have been spending our days just hanging around. The pool is certainly getting a work out as the temperature has been over 100 for the last week!!

              Hope to be back soon,
                       Suzy

Copy-cat

Hello, life is a little hectic so I have re-posted a copycat challenge I did last year for Christmas. Hope you enjoy!!
When I saw that Debbie Doo’s was having a copycat party I knew exactly what I was going to do. I had just seen a gorgeous table and had thought to myself ‘I can do that!!’ I already had just about everything I needed so I fiddled around until I was happy with the result.

I did have a bag of lovely red apples for the centre but before I could set my table someone has eaten them!!! I just substituted some red Christmas balls.

I hope you enjoy this gorgeous country Christmas table.

Grateful

Here in Australia we are all just so grateful to have our families and friends safe. Our whole nation is in mourning with the families in America who sadly are going through the most difficult times of their lives. Nothing could prepare anyone for this. Just so much sadness.  We send our love to everyone involved.
Today because we are all so sad I thought I would share with you some beautiful flowers I photographed in my mum’s garden on Sunday. Somehow the busyness and bustle of Christmas has been placed on the back burner while we all battle to take in the horror of these last few days.

Finishing touches

Mr FH and I went to the beach house again for the weekend and spent most of the time cleaning the limestone pavers around the house ready for Christmas. I actually managed to get all the Christmas presents wrapped for my little grandies. I finished off a few little areas in our living room while I was there then after we arrived home today I finished putting a few Christmas touches around the farm house. We won’t be here at the farm house for Christmas but I always feel we need just a little bit of Christmas spirit around here too!!

I have recently taken all the pink out of my family room at the farmhouse and as I have a dark green couch (which is too good to replace) I have now changed the accent to blue and green to freshen it up a little. As you can see I have used those colours in my Christmas decorating.

Christmas at the beach house

Over the weekend I started a little Christmas decorating at the beach house. I didn’t achieve as much as I hoped as Mr FH had an unplanned trip to the dentist, I drove 80 miles towards home and back again on Saturday for a Christmas function and we had a family dinner for our son and his new fiancé on Saturday night so things were a little hectic. I don’t have a mantel there so I used my sideboard in the dining area to make my displays on. I am very happy with the way it turned out (I took my inspiration  from ‘Dear Lillie’ – her home is to die for!!!

Now I can’t wait to get back there this weekend to finish!!

PS I didn’t light all the candles as some were wrapped in paper and as we were outside I was afraid they would catch fire while we weren’t there!
